Nick Rowe

After spending his childhood imitating early guitar heroes like Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Nick Rowe moved to New York in 1999 and formed the metalcore band Bloodsimple. The band consisted of former Vision of Disorder members Tim Williams and Mike Kennedy and signed to Warner Brothers after a few years together. Bloodsimple went on to release two LPs and tour the world, opening for the likes of Korn, Alice In Chains, Disturbed, Mudvayne, Metallica, and Deftones.

Following the band’s breakup in 2008, Rowe relocated to Los Angeles and began focusing on production. With a truly diverse skillset, and thanks to his work with producer Ariel Rechtshaid, he soon found himself engineering Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Adele, Vampire Weekend, Haim, and many more. Nick garnered a Grammy for Vampire Weekend’s Modern Vampires of the City in 2013, and also went on to compose music for television with artist Rostam Batmanglij on the score to the Netflix series “The OA”. Nick continues to keep a foot in the metal world, frequently teaming up with longtime friend and AAM producer/mixer Josh Wilbur to work with artists such as Lamb of God, Soulfly, Trivium, and Of Mice and Men.

Simplicity, flavor, and heaviness are at the core of Rowe’s musical vision. This vision can be seen on the forthcoming album Child Soldier: Creator of God, the debut solo effort from Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato. In addition to this, Nick has contributed to the latest Pop Evil release “Work” and has more upcoming cuts with them and multiple other bands.
