Mikey Freedom Hart
Mikey Freedom Hart is a 2x GRAMMY winning producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and arranger based in New York by way of New Orleans, Louisiana. Hart was classically trained in piano from age three and picked up his immense sense of music and harmony in the church and on the street. At age 16, he moved to New York City to pursue a music career and began busking before becoming one of the industry’s most versatile collaborators.
He most recently won a GRAMMY for Album of The Year with Taylor Swift’s Midnights and has been a key contributor across many of Taylor’s projects alongside close collaborator Jack Antonoff, including 8 songs on 1989 (Taylor’s Version), co-producing “Anti-Hero ft. Bleachers,” and working across Swift’s 2020 AOTY-winning Folklore, playing over 15 different instruments which he self-recorded during Covid lockdown. In 2022, he won his first GRAMMY for Album of The Year with Jon Batiste’s We Are.
Outside of all things Taylor, Mikey recently co-wrote and produced two songs on Genesis Owusu’s Struggler, worked across A$AP Rocky’s “Same Problems?” alongside Tyler The Creator and Thundercat, and co-produced “Shining Star ft. Brittany Howard and Verdine White” on the Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack. He currently plays as a member of Bleachers.
Based in New York, Mikey continues to push creative boundaries, collaborating with a diverse roster of artists and writers like The 1975, Scott Harris, EJAE, Obongjayar, Suki Waterhouse, Maggie Rogers, Porter Robinson, The Vaccines, Provoker, alexsucks, Spill Tab, redveil, romy mars, Show Me the Body, loe shimmy, beau nox, Empress Of, and Tei Shi.
