Henry Was
Henry Was is a Grammy and ARIA award winning producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for his genre-fluid sensibilities and dynamic musicality. Trained in Jazz drumming and Salsa percussion, his work spans Hip-Hop, Alternative, Jazz, and Experimental Pop. Henry’s credits include works with Doechii (producing and co-writing “Wait” on her Grammy-winning album Alligator Bites Never Heal), Ibrahim Maalouf (executive producing his Grammy nominated album Capacity to Love, a genre-defying project that featured contributions from a global roster of artists), Isaiah Rashad, Genesis Owusu, Alemeda, Erick the Architect, X Ambassadors, Fana Hues, and Amindi. Recent and upcoming releases / collaborations with Mabel, Isaiah Rashad, Amma, Paco, Dende, Charlie Keer, Nectar Wood, Kyle Dion, New Jeans, and Sounds Mint among others.
Henry is also part of the funk rock band, Thumpasaurus.
