John O'Mahony

John O'Mahony is a Grammy Nominated Mixer and Producer known for his work with such acclaimed artists as Coldplay, Metric, Oh Land, Kashmir and The Cribs.

Recent career highlights for John include mixing / co-producing Metric's Synthetica and mixing Howard Shore's score for David Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis' in 5.1 and Stereo formats.

As part of the mixing team for Coldplay's Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends John recived a 2009 Grammy Nomination for Album Of The Year and was also awarded the 2009 Tec Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in the category of Record Production / Album.

John moved from his native Ireland to his current home New York City in 1998 to work as a staff engineer for the infamous Chung King Studios.

In the summer of 2001, John went independent splitting his time between mixing albums alone and engineering for renowned producer Andy Wallace.

John first began producing at the prompting of Metric frontwoman Emily Haines when she enlisted him to produce, engineer and mix her critically acclaimed solo album Knives Don't Have Your Back. Since then he has gone on to produce albums for international artists Kashmir (Denmark) and The Panics (Australia).

While working mostly out of New York City and Los Angeles, John has made records all over the world including spells in Nashville, Copenhagen, London and Toronto.
